"Spare Us Your Anger!" Kasipul Youth Tell Off Governor Wanga

A section of Kasipul youth has come out strongly to condemn the recent utterances by Homa Bay Governor Hon. Gladys Wanga following her remarks during their visit to the late Hon. Ong'ondo Were's home in Kachien, Kasipul constituency.

During the visit, the governor, who was a close associate of the slain MP, was heard saying that she would not allow any other party to have space in Homa Bay County. The governor, who also serves as the National Chair for ODM, sent a strong wave of warning to other political parties, cautioning them not to try to step foot in the county again.

Later that evening, a group of youth who have been actively advocating for peace and political tolerance within the constituency and beyond held a meeting to discuss the utterances and send a strong message to the governor and her team.

During the discussion, the members came out strongly to refute the utterances, stating clearly that such could lead to further insecurity issues that have been experienced in the said area for a long period. One of them stated, "I deeply condemn the utterances of the governor. Being a leader who should be advocating for democracy and unity, it is very unfortunate that she could make such reckless statements."

Another one, popularly known as Steve Loch, stated, "It is with great concern that I must strongly condemn the reckless and incite full remarks made by our Governor, Hon. Gladys Nyasuna Wanga, during her recent speech at the Ong'ondo Were home. At a time when our people are mourning and searching for answers, her words have only served to deepen division and fuel hatred. Such dangerous rhetoric, suggesting war and rejecting peace, has no place in our county or in our leadership.

We, the youth of Kasipul, say NO to leaders who seek to divide us, manipulate our pain, and push us toward violence. We must remain firm, focused, and committed to peace. Violence only breeds more suffering—it is not a solution. We are a generation that values dialogue over destruction, reason over rage, and peace over politics of hate.

Furthermore, we reject any attempt to dictate political choices in Homa Bay. This county belongs to all of us—not to a single party, not to a single leader. ODM is not the only voice, and it cannot be forced upon the people as the only option. We believe in democracy, and every youth has the right to choose their political path without fear or intimidation.

Let us honor the memory of our fallen MP by refusing to be used as tools of violence. Let us mourn with dignity and seek justice through lawful means. Let us show the entire country that the youth of Kasipul are wise, mature, and peaceful.

In unity, there is strength. In peace, there is progress.

Kasipul for Peace. Kasipul for Justice. Kasipul for the People."

As the governor's utterances continue to draw different reactions from far and wide, the youth back at home continue to express their disappointment in the leader. They term her as too emotional, reckless, and inconsiderate to the current state of affairs. Calls for her to sober up continue to be raised.
